"I saw a man clothed with rags, standing in a certain place, with his face from
his own house, a book in his hand, and a great burden upon his back. Isa 64:6; Luke 14:33;
Psalm 38:4."
Let me share my thoughts on this man clothed in rags and bearing a burden on his back: Our good works (feeding the poor, missionary work, reading our Bibles, praying, etc); whenever they are done in order to be made right with God they are like filthy rags.
This man's burden on his back was the weight of his own sin. When we feel the weight of our own sin, it is then that we come to the cross to find forgiveness and grace.
